Digit'Art

Exploring Art trough computer graphics.

Creativity has always been part of who I am—whether doodling in high school or looking at things from a different angle to make a joke. Thinking outside the box became second nature early on.

When I discovered graphic design, I loved how computers removed barriers like materials or budget. What started as a hobby quickly grew into something more. Eventually, I used those skills professionally—even while working as an Account Manager in events. Life has its twists.

Everything else will become obsolete over time.”

2D'esign

Logos, illustrations, drawings, etc...

I started playing around with Dr. Draw, MS Paint, back in the day of prehistoric computers. With time, I kept learning new software and Adobe software became the norm.

It was early years in digital art, and we had very few references and knowledge bases. But I became familiar to the auto-learning process of tutorials, examples, FAQ’s, Forums, etc…

Graphic Design Work

Here is a small sample of some various some of my work in Graphic Design along the years.

Social Media

As a team, we were producing Social media content for 12 Brands, monthly.

Ours clients range from pharmaceuticals to nutrition. We created between 4 and 7\8 Posts a month, for each Brand, based on a monthly briefing from our Social media Manger. This included some Video Posts, that we create using Photoshop and After Effects, and would have under 10 seconds duration.

Post & Story

Most posts followed standard sizes—1080x1080px (Post) and 1080x1920px (Story).
In many Posts we had to insert products in an image using photoshop, and used the Brand visuals, logos and fonts to maintain the Brand’s Mural vial consistency.

Motion - Reels &

I created short videos for social media and animated banners to complete digital campaigns. I also worked on promotional reels for the marketing team and internal case study presentations.

The process was simple but effective:

  1. Design static frames in Photoshop, following brand guidelines.

  2. Client approval of the static visuals.

  3. Animate frames in After Effects, respecting platform specs.

Digital Campaigns

Banner Ads campaigns

In our digital campaigns, we produced multiple banner ads. Typically, we started by designing the social media versions, then adapted them into the most common banner formats:

  • Mrec – 300x250px
  • Skyscrapper – 120x600px
  • Leaderboard  – 728x90px
  • Skyscrapper – 120x600px
  • Halfpage – 300x600px
  • Billboard – 970x250pxA

Animated banners

Once static versions were approved, we created animated banners in each size.

Motion & 3D

Around the turn of the millennium, I discovered my love for Motion and 3D design. It started with Adobe Flash, then a friend introduced me to Maya, which opened up 3D design as both a hobby and freelance opportunity.

Though I moved on from Flash, my 3D skills were incredibly useful throughout my 14 years in brand activation, providing creative solutions for various projects.

3D'esign

The Z axis.

In events, we needed to create and implement on the ground, structures and fully customizable setups that we needed to present to clients. That’s where my 3d design knowledge became very handy. Here are some examples of 3D visualization renders I did during that time.

Visual Identity

Not just a pretty face.

As part of my designer role, sometimes I have to create an Event’s Visual Identity, a new brand logo or a Campaign Key Visual. We frequently have to use the client’s brand logo and sometimes their product imagery/visual identity as well. Here are some examples of this type of work.

VG Human Resources Program

I was asked to make my version of an existing Key Visual for an internal program at Vila Galé Hotels.

Discovery Day

My first time tackling the challenge of trying to combine big brand values and an entirely new event concept, with the city streets of Lisbon as a background.

Corrida do Tejo

How to follow up on a big Sports Brand? The challenge of designing a new image for a 40 years old 10Km race right after 7 years of success with Nike.
