Hi there.

I'm a Digital Designer, and this is my home on the web.

Hi there,

I'm Diogo — a Digital Designer and overall curious human.

I built this website to gather everything about who I am and what I do. You’ll find my UX-UI work, Graphic Design projects, and even my CV turned into an app (because… why not?).

I really hope you like it. Cheers,

About me

Who am I, in a nutshell?

I’m a positive, creative, and slightly stubborn person who believes that doing things well matters — but enjoying life while doing them matters even more.

I’m self-taught in most of the skills I have today. So the question isn’t “What can you do?” but “How long until you learn the next thing?”

Computer savvy

My dad was a systems engineer, so I’ve been surrounded by computers since floppy disks were a thing. He used them for work — I used them to create.

Nevertheless, I learned a lot about computer hardware principles from him, and that as proved very helpful throughout the years.

To those basic principles I added a lot of common sense, a bunch of logic and the internet, and learned all the software I know today.

"What's he like?"

Soft skills with a sense of humour

People often say I’m positive, honest, and pretty good at leading a team without being bossy. I live by common sense and fair play — never the “win at all costs” kind of guy.

Playing well with others

I genuinely like people. Different backgrounds, different stories — I think the magic happens when you bring all that together and build something as a team.

Enjoying Life

Between a Gatorade and a Hot cup of tea

I’ve always loved sports, and while I’ve tried nearly every one, lately I’ve settled into Football and Tennis. I also enjoy being outdoors, especially riding my bike, which has been my main mode of transport for the past 18 years.

On the other hand, I also love been at home. Netflix and chill, doing puzzles or improving my design skills on the computer, and, every now and then, gaming for some relaxation…

I have been playing since the early console years, and yes, I’ve picked sides a long time a go:

PlayStation all the way! 🙂

Social Media

My public life

I stepped away from Facebook a few years ago when I found Instagram, and over time, I’ve dialed back my social media use. It’s become my form of mental cleansing. 🙂

That said, I’m still very much tuned into trends and the content landscape, especially since my work often involves creating for social media…

Instography

This was my preferred platform, and I liked it from the start because I love photography, so I could use my Instagram account as a photo album. These days, I don’t post nearly as much.

The fact that we can use a simple phone instead of buying an expensive Camera, and the ability to do simple post-production with a basic phone App, is super-practical.

Multilingual

I speak… a lot

Literally. I’m a talker and an extrovert, which made it easier to learn languages. I would really like to have chance to improve on my French, since is by far where I struggle the most.

Building a team

Hiring is no small task, and having done it myself, I know how challenging it can be. A strong team depends on genuine human connections, and in today’s fast-evolving world, adaptability is everything. While experience and formal training used to be the focus, soft skills are now key—especially in creative and digital fields.

Soft skills are now seen as fundamental in any working environment, and absolutely crucial in creative and digital business areas. These are my most identifiable ones:

Leadership
Assertiveness
Problem Solving

The herd

Generation gap

Only after studying Personas and user habits in the UX program, I realized what I was also a “member of the herd”, so to speak, and found my own “pack”.

I discovered that my attitude towards work and life in general, are common in GenXers.

Now, It’s true that we shouldn’t be defined by such labels, but in my case, it’s a very effective way for me to tell people how I am, in so many words.

For everything else, let me know what you need and I’ll try to provide it.

Cheers,

I’m a poster boy to my generation’s motto:

Underpromise to Overdeliver.
